What Do You Know About God?
Monday, November 10, 2008 at 03:48PM Do you know anything about your God first-hand? Or does your entire knowledge of things Godly come from what other people have told you about Him?
When has God ever spoken to you and explained Who He is?
- Does God care about you? Can you say "Yes" because you know Him personally, or because you know that's the correct answer from the Bible?
- Does God answer prayer? Have there been specific requests that God has answered in your life, or do you just know stories from other people's lives?
- Does God save sinners? Do people still accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour? How do you know? Because you read it in a book or heard some preacher talk about it?
- Does the truth really even matter? Maybe everybody ought to just do their thing, instead of everything having to be either right or wrong.
A real God ought to move in a real way.
If you told me that you are in love with a guy who lives in Iceland, yet you never call, email, text, or visit him AND he never calls, emails, texts, or visits you, would I be a Neanderthal to speculate that either, a. he didn't really care about you; b. he didn't exist - maybe you were making it all up; or c. he did exist and he cared about you, but you really didn't care about him.
If this sounds cynical, that is not my intent. I simply want you to think about what God is doing in your life - TODAY.
Take some time, think about it, and leave comments. It'll encourage other people.
